United Way News 2008-09 Campaign Co-Chairs & Goal Announced Brookings Area United Way sets 2009/2010 Campaign goal at $525,000. This year the goal is to raise $525,000 to invest into 38 area non-profit programs throughout Brookings County. The theme “Imagine the Possibilities When a Community Lives United” reflects how a when community that comes together, they can change lives and improve Brookings County. Board President, Jeff Kjenstad is very hopeful that the community can meet this year’s campaign goal. Requests have been larger as the cost to serve people continues to increase and many programs experienced declines in state and federal funding. To stress how important it is for the whole community to join together and reach out a hand to help each other, the Brookings Area United Way board has decided to join together and act as this year’s campaign Co-chairs. They know that by joining together, we can accomplish more than any single person or group can on its own. We invite you to join with us, to bring positive change to our community. Together, united, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow. Someone you know – a neighbor, a friend, a co-worker – has a better life because you care!
